"Whispers of the Ancient Bog," (July, 2023. ) Lullymore Bog. Allenwood. County Kildare Ireland

The piece of bog oak is a tall, irregularly shaped sculpture, ( 24” H. 6”D 4”W) , with a deep black hue and glossy finish, likely preserved for thousands of years in an Irish peat bog.*The bog oak's form is inherently sculptural, with its irregular shape and dynamic silhouette evoking natural artistry rather than human craftsmanship. The upward-reaching peak and the hollows and cavities create a sense of movement and depth, inviting you to imagine the tree's journey through time. The swirling grain patterns, visible across the surface, add a layer of visual interest, suggesting the wood's growth rings and the environmental conditions it endured.

Given its ancient roots and evocative form, "Whispers of the Ancient Bog" capture the sense of haunted history and mystery embedded in the wood.

{C.2400- 4000 *}*2019 Lullymore Heritage &Discovery Park in association with Maynooth University ( Geography Dept.) undertook Peat Coring Research using carbon dating, indicated that the present layer of peat formed 2600 years ago. This places this piece of bog oak somewhere between 2600-4000years old
